Using HOSTS to Block
Malicious Web Sites
I was looking
through our computer tips
archive the other day and found an article about
computer HOSTS files. The article explains exactly what a HOSTS
file is and how it can be used to block malicious Web sites. At the
very end of the article, there's a short paragraph about how you
can download a custom HOSTS file that will automatically block many
of the known malicious Web sites on the Web today.

Align Text Left
or Right... But I Want Both!
Ever find yourself in need of both a left and right alignment of text on the same line in MS Word?
What did you do?
I know some pretty determined people and I've seen all kinds of solutions for this. Many included things like a lot of extra spaces and multiple columns and at first, these may seem like a good idea, but they tend to cause problems later on during the editing process.

The Mouseless Right-Click
Over the years I have found that there are many people who would like to use the right-click menus my tips are always referring to but just hate the mouse.
These right-clicks are great for everyone who's comfortable with the mouse. And many people aren't even remotely interested in trying to remember all the key combinations necessary to replace all the stuff the right-click can do.

Q: Is there an easy way to tell if I have Administrator rights or not?

A:
Have you ever run into a situation where you had to sign in to your computer under the Administrator account? I mean, sometimes certain software programs, etc. require you to have Administrator rights before you can actually install anything on your PC. (You can read this article for more information on Administrator rights, just in case you're not too sure about the whole thing).
